The Venue

We will be getting married at the historic Whitehall Manor in Bluemont, Virginia. We plan to have the ceremony under the trees, and dinner and dancing inside.

Take the toll road west, all the way until it ends at Route 7. Keep going west on 7, for about 18 miles. Make a left on Clayton Hall Road (there is no stoplight), then a left on Snickersville Turnpike. Go slow, because about a mile or two down on Snickersville, you will be making another left onto a very easy to miss Whitehall Estates Lane. That is the driveway up to the manor. We've included a small map to help.

Whitehall Manor is about 20 minutes from the town of Leesburg. There are several hotels that will offer a complimentary shuttle service to the wedding venue.
We will give out more details about the hotel at a later date.

Our Story

When a couple announces their engagement, everyone wants to hear "the story". It's a short story. Todd and I were introduced to each other through "Match.com". We met at the Panera Bread in the Reston Town Center for our first date, and as I recall, I paid for his grilled chicken salad (he was a cheap date). I don't like clichés, but it is true what people say, "you just know he or she is the one for you". We clicked instantly. Six months later, he took me back to the Reston Town Center, telling me we were meeting some friends for dinner. I was a little worried about him because he was looking a bit ill on the car trip to the restaurant. He kept reassuring me that he wasn't going to vomit all the way to the Town Center fountain where we had our very first rendezvous. I asked him where his friends were, and he said, "they aren't coming." In all honesty, I was in a little bit of a daze from the point Todd got down on one knee to the end of the evening. Todd tells me there was a small audience watching him propose to me, and there was some applause after I said "yes". At the restaurant, Todd asked me if he could place the ring on my finger. I looked at him quizzically, and asked, "again?". He told me that he never got the chance. I was so excited, I said, "YES" and snatched the ring from the box and placed it on my own finger. And so ends our first chapter.
